Silky Steamed Egg

Ingredients

(suggested to serve with a bowl of rice)

  • 3 eggs

  • 325ml water

  • ⅓ tsp salt

  • ⅓ tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp chicken powder

  • A little oil

  • A splash of light soy sauce

  • Chopped spring onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture

  1. Crack the eggs into a large bowl and gently whisk until smooth.

  2. Slowly add the water while stirring lightly.

  3. Mix in salt, sugar, and chicken powder until well combined.

 

Strain and Steam

  1. Pour the egg mixture into a shallow dish.

  2. Skim off any bubbles from the surface using a spoon.

  3. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and poke small holes with a toothpick.

  4. Heat water in a pot until it reaches a rolling boil with visible steam, then place the plate inside

  5. Steam over medium-low heat for 10 minutes until set.

Final Touch

  1. Drizzle a little hot oil and light soy sauce on top.

  2. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve warm!
